The founding member of Occupy The Stage was arrested 06/20/2012 while Occupy The Stage was hosting the Occupy Caravan. He was house-sitting for a friend in the neighborhood and went a few blocks up the street to feed the cat. He was next seen in the back of an NOPD car as it passed the OTS warehouse. He yelled out the window to us. @small_affair is pretty sure his phone battery had died b/c he'd been livestreaming.
He is currently being held without bond because of a warrant issued by the Louisiana State Police for Disturbing the Peace and Resisting Arrest. He was not arrested the day he protested on the steps of the state capital, and we do not know how they learned his name.
He may be taken to Baton Rouge or Lafouche Parrish (we are getting conflicting reports) due to this warrant (which he was unaware of).
The two YouTube videos to the left show the Louisiana State Capital incident that the warrant is for.
This is New Orleans, where they have OPP, one of the SLOWEST processing systems in the country, not to mention terrible conditions and overpopulated to the point that there is a 'tent-city' of sorts for the prisoners! He may be extradited to Baton Rouge and have to find his own way home.
The Occupy The Stage Working Group borrowed $500.00 for Jail Support to pay the lawyer from the Occupy NOLA Legal Team, but he was still not released.
Nobody including Occupy NOLA legal has spoken with him.
